Do you get excited thinking about having your own fresh food right outside your door?Are you looking to start your own garden but are unsure on how to start? Are you limited on time, but feel like you could garden for a few minutes most days and more on the weekends in order to enjoy some beautiful flowers and a homegrown veggie or two? This on-site course for beginning gardeners has been neatly narrowed down to the basic concepts of gardening to get you started on your very own garden quickly!
Some topics covered includeTexas climate and growing seasons, healthy soil, the best plants (vegetables, fruits, herbs, perennials, trees) for the North TX area, best practices for creating your personalized garden, and assistance with a plan to get started! We will share with you all of our favorite resources (local and online) and you will leave this workshop armed with all of the info you need to begin gardening right away.
This class is geared to the everyday busy woman and will include a combination of classroom teaching and hands-on demonstration in the garden. Every participant will leave with a veggie start and flower seeds to use at home.
Gardening 101 is taught by the creative and knowledgeable gardener Jennifer Anderson, a crowd-favorite instructor, who is the everyday busy mom herself!
