Our Story
a journey back to the landWelcome y’all!
We are Ryan and Jenny and crew, and we are honored to share a little about who we are, our family, and how we made our way to the ranch!
We both grew up in rural towns with family that farmed and ranched. We experienced the highs and lows of being dependent upon the land. Although we had many good childhood memories, following college graduation, we packed up and moved to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and found a wonderful neighborhood to settle into. We were truly blessed, getting started on that American Dream.
But…we yearned for a return to country life…
We stretched our dreams and found a pretty little place that gives us plenty of room to raise our babies and our animals, and to enjoy God’s creation. We like to think of this as “Ranching Re-Imagined.” We are incorporating many of the ideas and techniques we grew up with, while also learning new skills and equipping ourselves to homestead in a more modern world.
We have four kids and one is already graduated from college and serving in the Air Force, and the other three children get a lot of satisfaction out of playing integral roles in sustaining the activities happening at the ranch! We hope one day our grandkids will play and grow at this ranch as well!
Our days are spent exploring, our hands are dirty, and our skin is weather-worn!
The daily schedule revolves around creation care: the animal feeding and tending activities, and the work that needs to be accomplished on the ranch. Numerous projects, tasks, hungry animals, and adventure always awaits!
We love the Swift Arrow Ranch and all of the dreams that it has fulfilled.
The pursuit of wisdom
We enjoy being at home on the ranch, and as such we are a homeschooling family that has a passion for both studying and teaching.
We have been blessed to be mentored by, and learn from, some outstanding teachers throughout our lifetime. It is a great privilege to extend our passion for pursuing the good and beautiful by collaborating with instructors to offer courses and classes amidst a rural environment .
